As a team lead, Shannon not only fostered community and collaboration among her closest teammates, but was regularly relied upon as an experienced and dependable member of the larger EPACS community.
Over the course of her eight years a team lead, Shannon served the EPACS community in a variety of ways:
- Led the Language and Literacy Intervention Team (LLIT) to set annual goals, engage in mid-year check-ins, and evaluate program efficacy
- Delivered professional development on topics including foundational literacy, SIPPS curriculum, the Walk to Read model, evaluating student literacy data, and best practices in Special Education
- Facilitated the use of over $20,000 in grant funds on behalf of the EPACS School Library by purchasing new books and installing permanent shelving
- Served as a long-term substitute in a Kindergarten classroom for six months during the 2022-2023 school year
- Mentored thirteen early-career educators as induction candidates and interns
